This game is easy to play and easy to differentiate..
You decide the number of manipulatives your students need to use.. In this case I used eyeballs. No eyeballs? Use ping pong balls, connecting cubes, counters, the possibilities are endless.
First count how many you have. Then everyone hides their eyes and you hide some (in a cauldron, a pumpkin, a cup). When everyone opens their eyes you count how many you see. Now figure out how many are hiding in the cauldron. Use your math talk to explain the process and your thinking.
If your students are ready for pencil and paper the recording pages are for you. I have included several options in both black and white and color.
