Activity 1: It’s Time for Lunch
Students scoot from one card to another answering the missing addend. Their answers go on a response sheet. No two students may be at the same task card at a time, unless you partner students up.
Activity 2: Munch
For this game you give teams a stack of cards. The game can be played in small groups or partnerships. It is played like Kaboom, Bang and Uh-Oh. Students draw addition sentences from a pile and determine the missing addend. They keep the card if they solve correctly. If a “Munch” card is drawn, the student must put all of his/her cards back in the pile, except for the “Munch” card. The player with the most cards, when the draw pile is empty, is the winner.
