Missing addend word problems are often difficult for first-grade students to grasp at first. This product includes a set of worksheets that give a problem with two or three addends. The student then uses the number line, drawings, and the part/part/whole chart to find the answer to the question. Finally, the student is asked to explain the strategies used and write a number sentence.
A ten frame and a part/part/whole chart are included as visual aids.
This product also includes word problems to be pasted into math notebooks or on manila paper for students to use whatever strategies they choose. (The thumbnails will give a better idea of what's included.)
