Here is a number grid with missing blocks of numbers. Students are asked to use what they know about place value the organization and sequence of numbers to fill it in correctly. At the end are four more and less than questions that prompt students to use the grid.
As a third grade teacher, I use this at the beginning of the year to assess my students quickly. I plan to spend more time with those who have difficulty with this. As a second grade teacher, this was used as part of our work with addition, subtraction, and place value.
