Documenting Missing Work: help for students and teachers!
Missing work (worksheets, homework, projects, etc) is a problem that can plague every teacher (and student!) Structure and consistency in dealing with this behavior is extraordinarily important—their effects cannot be underestimated in helping a student take responsibility for their actions both in and out of your classroom.
This PDF includes a printable with four forms to a page as well as an information sheet with suggestions on how to use the missing assignment forms/documentation in your classroom.
Advantages to implementing the Missing Assignment Form:
-->Student has to go through an action relating to them not having the required assignment
-->You, as the teacher, have a student-created record of the student being aware of the assignment not being turned in on time, the date by which it must be turned in to receive credit, and potential consequences relating to late/missing work (this is great back-up for parent-teacher conferences if needed).
-->Helps students that were absent realize they need to pick up work
-->Helps you stay organized when grading papers (i.e. you can see a student was in class when the assignment was due but that they did not turn something in).
NOTE: While this form can apply to all assignments, if desired there is another form that is "MISSING HOMEWORK" specific also available in my shop.
