This Interactive Notebook is a companion to the Mississippi Interactive Notebook. While the journal gives the student an overall look at Mississippi, this Interactive Notebook is a more detailed, research- based product.
Note: This product was made as a guide for students to research the local Native Americans. Answers may vary depending on areas and teacher's preferences.
The Topics range from Native American Vocabulary, used in our State Curriculum with an additional page for other words the teacher wishes to include. Students will have to locate each of the tribes/groups of Mississippi, and find details and facts about each group. They also use a color coding system to locate the groups on a map of Mississippi. Other topics include Native American words still in use today, and a section for students to write titles of stories and/or myths of each of the tribes.
I have included a section on Native American Mounds, and a number of pages for students to draw or cut and paste pictures of Native American artifacts. There is also a page for the student to discuss if he/she would have liked to have lived as a Native American before the Europeans arrived.
