This product include three great activities to add to your life science tool belt! These activities can be used in science interactive notebooks or on their own! They are very versatile & can be used in lots of fun ways: individually, centers, with partners, etc. They can be used as notes, review, reinforcement activities, homework, assessment, etc.
This product includes:
- Phases of mitosis flip book: Students layer the flip book in order of phases. One option has cell phase graphics on it already, ready to color, the other option is blank for students to draw their own. Use the cut & paste descriptions provided OR have students write their own descriptions! There are 2 extra flaps in case you want to include other phases (prometaphase, early/late anaphase, etc.)
- Phases Vocabulary Chart: Have students write out each phase, it’s description, and a quick sketch of the phase. A great reference for them to use and refer back to if they get stuck. This could also be used as an assessment (warm up, exit ticket, etc.)
- Phases of mitosis card sort: Cut out the cards of the phase names, graphics, and descriptions and have students match them all 3 together. This can be done individually, in partners, or at a science center. There are two blank squares to be used if you teach more than just the 6 phases included.
Extension: Students could use the card sort as a “memory game” where they turn them all over and match the 3 cards together. GREAT practice for studying or early finishers!
