Put a winter twist on non-standard measurement by using these 10 brightly colored mittens of various sizes at a math center. This works great for preschool and kindergarten students when used at a center with mini and/or big (regular sized) marshmallows. Maybe you'd like to use one size marshmallow one day and the other the next for continued measurement practice and ease of management.
If you prefer not use food, use small white pom-pom balls in place of the mini-marshmallows and cotton balls in place of regular sized marshmallows.
A recording sheet is also included for holding students accountable to doing this work at a center independently.
For durability, please consider printing these cards on cardstock or laminating them. If laminated, a recording sheet may not be necessary--just use with dry erase markers and let students write right on them!
