This is a 3-day project that introduces students to Mixed Media and gives students an opportunity to explore the colors, images and textures that they are naturally drawn to as an artist. The lesson has students create a mixed media name tag by pulling interesting images, textures and colors from magazines.
This is a 15 page powerpoint presentation that is perfect to use at the beginning of the semester to warm students up and get them into a creative mindset. I have students hang their finished name tag on their locker/cubby. It would also work great as a sub plan for an art classroom. The presentation includes student process photos and finished student artwork examples.
Good for classroom teachers, substitutes and art teachers alike. This lesson uses only five materials, magazines, glue, cups with lids, brushes and acrylic paint.
