This worksheet covers the Test for Divergence, Basic Series (like p-series, harmonic series, alternating harmonic series, and geometric series), Direct Comparison Test, Alternating Series Test, and Ratio Test. The worksheet also provides review questions for Power Series.
In my experience, students can master each concept individually, but when mixed, students have a hard time deciding which test to apply to determine convergence/divergence.
This worksheet is split into 3 sections. In the first section, students are asked to sort all 10 problems into which test would be most applicable.
In the second section, students apply the test selected to determine convergence/divergence (great for test review!).
In the third section, students are asked to determine convergence intervals for Power Series. This is a great review of the series tests as well because they must be applied (out of context) when checking the end points.
It is recommended that each of these topics has been taught individually before diving into this worksheet. This would be a good review before moving on to Taylor/MacLaurin expansions or before a test.
The answer key included is VERY IN DEPTH. It could also potentially be given to students or posted after the practice is complete for students to go back and individually check their work.
