This product is a student literature booklet.
This booklet will help guide student-led literature groups with thoughtful discussions and connections. Use this resource along with E.L Konigsburg’s “From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler”. It is best to have one book per student, but one book per group will work as well.
In my own classroom, I have used this in two ways. We read the story as a class and then the students move into their groups to begin their discussions while I circulate the room, asking questions and listening. I have also had them read the chapters in their groups so they can pause for discussions throughout their reading. Students can write directly into their booklet if they have their own copy. Personally, I recommend using a reading notebook/journal for this in order to give them enough space to write their responses.
To correctly put this booklet together, print the document front to back then fold the pages in order. The pages are already arranged for them to fit in the order of each chapter.
I hope that you enjoy the resource as much as I have enjoyed making and using it myself. If you have any questions or concerns about this resource, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
