These mixed up sentences with auxiliary verbs need to be put in order! Then have your students practice changing the statements to questions. Auxiliary verbs include is, am, are, could, can, should, and would. This is great practice for syntax and semantics and a good review for capitalization and punctuation!
Students first have to reorganize the mixed up words to form a grammatically correct sentence that makes sense. The questions begin with 3 out of order words and advance to 6. There are 5 questions for each sentence length. Once students put the mixed up words in the correct order, have students change the statements into questions.
