Mixed-up Multiplication Tables help students practice their math facts and use problem solving skills while filling in the missing factors and products on each table. This practice not only helps students with their multiplication facts, but it also reinforces the relationship between multiplication and division.
The wizard gives 15 factor / product clues for each of the four tables on the first challenge page. On each of the following pages he gives one less clue. By the final challenge page students are solving the tables with only 5 clues from the wizard. Since no factor is repeated in each shaded row or each shaded column, the wizard's clues will leave only one way to solve each table.
The Mixed-up Multiplication Tables packet includes:
~ 11 challenge pages (4 tables each) using the factors 1-9.
~ 11 challenge pages (4 tables each) using the factors 1-12.
~ Answer keys for all 22 challenge pages.
~ 88 individual table pages - all the tables from the challenge pages in a larger size for projection on the board.
~ A blank template for students to create their own tables.
Mixed-up Multiplication Tables make an excellent math center. They can also be used as extra seat practice or can be projected on the board for whole class participation.
