PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is an adult ESL worksheet with 30 modal verb fill-in-the-blank activities. Blanks are filled in by reading the implication below each sentence; this allows students to contrast the meanings of modal verbs.

Example:
You ___ say that (it's a possible way to summarize the situation)
You ___ say that (I think this is what you need to say)

For #20-30, students fill in the blank for the even numbered sentences. For the odd numbers, they supply their own modal in the blank and write an implication for the sentence they have just created.
