Product Description
This lesson illustrates the application of math and mechanics to the problem of bone fractures. By exerting bending, torsional, and combinations of stresses to carrots, students will understand the manner in which bones fracture. By a simple demonstration, students can recreate a transverse, spiral, and butterfly fracture. A puzzle is presented to students in which they assess an X-ray radiograph to identify the mechanism underlying a patient's fracture.
