PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity uses simple household items to model digestion. With just Ziploc bags, lemon juice, vegetable oil, and some slices of bread, you can model digestion for multiple learning styles in a very memorable way. Students are given space to record their observations after each step of the process, with application questions included at the end.

This activity addresses the NGSS science and engineering practices through developing and using models, as well as the cross cutting concepts of cause and effect and systems and systems models. It also supports disciplinary core idea LS1.A Structure and Function.
