### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

As students are building a conceptual foundation for multiplying fractions, models should be a key component. With four levels for students to progress through from introduction to extending the concept, this is a resource for all math teachers.

Activity #1 : Name that Model
Given the model, identify each of the three fractions to show the fraction equation hat is being represented.

Page 5—10 : 6 pages of 12 problems.

Page 12 : Accountability Recording Sheet
Page 13: Answer Key for Activity 1 and 2
No extra materials necessary

Activity #2 : Complete the Model
Given two factors of the fraction equation, create the product. You will need black, yellow, blue & green crayons or colored pencils.

Extra materials necessary: Yellow, Green, Blue, Black Crayons or Colored Pencils

Activity #3 : Draw the Equation
Given the fraction equation, create the two factors and the product.. You will need black, yellow, blue & green crayons or colored pencils.

Activity #4 : Find the Factors
Given the product of the fraction equation, create the two factors. You will need black, yellow, blue & green crayons or colored pencils.

Note: Students should progress through all 4 activities. Make sure they "master" activity 1 before moving on to activity 2...etc... Some may do this more quickly than others.

Perfect for centers, or a differentiated activity after your lesson. Also great for test prep :)

**Due to nature of color gradients, these frames do not print well in black and white. You will not be able to see the "green" area as the grey pigments are very similar to the "yellow". I have limited the color in the activities to only the multiplication squares. I do hope that the "limited" use of color will help with printing. Due to Terms of Usage of the clipart, I am unable to change the blue and yellow colors to something the prints better in black and white.**
