# Modeling Multiplication and Division, single digit numbers

Product Description
This document contains:
-recording worksheet (multiplication focus) to be used with manipulatives
-another worksheet (division focus) to be used with or without manipulatives (and answer key)

You will need:
- counters
- dice
-spinners (or you can have the kids roll the dice again)
-"buckets" - I used little cups from the dollar store, but you can also draw circles on whiteboards :)

Students roll a dice to determine how many "buckets" they will have. They then spin the spinner to determine how many counters will go in each bucket. They record this on the included worksheet, and then need to figure out how much counters there are total. The last step is to record two different multiplication facts related to the situation (i.e 2 x 4 = 8 and 4 x 2 = 8).

I then gave students the exit slip.

The next day, I had students do the division worksheet with the related buckets and counters. I didn't use manipulatives this day, but you definitely could!
