Model multiplication by using Base 10 blocks. Students really love to use their whole table learning about partial products without using an algorithm.
This set is 20 task cards that can be used in a variety of ways. You can have students work independently at a center, work in partners, or whole group. You can copy these cards front to back and have a self-checking activity or copy them separate and use as a matching activity. The possibilities are endless.
I know my 4th and 5th graders just love doing multiplication this way and it was a great intro into the AREA model for multiplication.
Great support for the Common Core and the math practice standards.
