Description

Want to improve your students’ math skills AND growth mindset? This Modeling Percents, Decimals, and Fractions Growth Mindset Activity combines aspects of growth mindset and math as well as writing. Students practice 20 multiple choice problems including fractions, decimals, and percents. Completing the problems on the task cards, then helps them find the growth mindset quote. This activity works as great review and practice and gets students thinking about growth mindset and how it connects to them!

This resource includes:

  • 20 multiple choice fractions, decimals, and percent problems
  • Grid to find the growth mindset quote
  • Writing sheet for students (Student Quote Page)
  • Teacher instructions
  • Answer key

Once students have completed the activity, they write about the quote they have found. I find it works best to have students discuss what the quote means to them. The best part is that the learning does not need to end once the activity is complete! You can extend this math activity by having students discuss their answers about the quote and really dive into growth mindset and math. You are able to cover not only math concepts, but writing and discussion techniques all in one!

“This is a very unique activity! It was great review for the math sections, but the addition of the growth mindset piece was fantastic!”
