Product Description
Fractions and percent drives fifth grade crazy. I have designed a powerpoint for explaining percents using a thermometer. Much like the common core number line concept, the thermometer compares 100 percent to a whole number and then breaks the number into smaller pieces. I used the model to teach fifth grade math, however, it also speaks to both 6th and 7th grade numeracy standards. This is the second in the series. This download is the problem and resources only. No explanation is given for the working of the problem but formating for printables is included. For complete instructions download "Modeling Percent with Thermometers." It is the original with step by step instructions.
