Modern Masters is a BBC documentary series written and presented by Alastair Sooke. The series was broadcasted in 2010. I have had tremendous success with these worksheets. The students stay fully engaged while watching the movie. The fill-in-the-blank questions are in sync with how the documentary is presented. This approach maintains attentive listeners because the students are anxiously waiting for the next upcoming answer.
This activity is perfect for any Studio Art class, Art History class, World History class, and U.S. History class.
Warning: Within each documentary there are a few brief segments that may not be appropriate for a high school student. Please watch the documentary before showing to your students and personally predetermine which sections you will fast forward through.
