Everything you need to get your students excited about Shakespeare!
This unit developed after my class of students kept posing the same question "Why do we have to study Shakespeare?"
To answer this, we set off on an interesting journey that began with us analyzing how Shakespeare impacts modern society. Students then selected a novel to study. As they read, they were constantly researching, synthesizing, and discussing how Shakespeare's works, themes, ideas may or may not have influenced the author of their self-selected text. In the end, they created a presentation or essay to analyze their findings.
It was a success -- it was awesome! Students were excited to see how the piece they chose related to the larger themes of literature, etc.
