For a 9th grade environmental science class, I used this worksheet to assist students in writing a summary paragraph to explain how the water cycle occurs. This works as a scaffolding graphic organizer with sentence starters to help students break down what they should say for each sentence. Then students are asked to take each individual sentence (including sentence starters) and write it in paragraph form. Ultimately it has student defining words from the water cycle such as precipitation, evaporation and condensation. This is a lower level worksheet and does not include advanced terms such as transpiration.
