This is a four part lesson on Modigliani's portraits. It includes slides with learning targets (I Can statements), Highly Effective Questions, vocabulary, and characteristics of Modigliani's works. The students are instructed to discuss topics throughout the lesson. There are reviews for each part. This also includes instructions for students to create their own self-portrait in the style of Modigliani. The instructions are closely related to the Modigliani post on Deep Space Sparkle, if you need to see a visual you can check that out. It is very easy to choose the slides that are most appropriate for your classroom. This would be a great elementary art classroom lesson or a gifted education lesson. However, it is easy enough to follow for a regular education classroom (even at the high school level) or a Special Education classroom as well. There are slides that address CCSS Speaking and Listening standards as well as a quick writing extension. Slides repeat for each session to encourage consistent and clear review.
