The activity is aligned to the Texas 6th grade science TEKS, but would be a good review for 8th grade before STAAR.
And this activity will work for anyone that is teaching the Moh's Hardness Scale and covering minerals.
I suggest using this after you have introduced minerals and students have completed a mineral lab. This is a good activity to see if your students are on the right track.
