This Review includes a brief tutorial and examples. The answer key shows the set up for each calculation. The 'problem' section is laid out in table format to help students stay neat and tidy. I generally use this over three class periods. We focus on doing one column/topic each day.
First column (section) is pure nomenclature. Covers the majority of Polyatomics, several acids, and throws in a few stock system and prefix system compounds.
Second column (section) is molar mass calculations of every compound that they have named.
Third column (section) is mols to molecules conversions. Starts off pretty standard, but just for 'fun' I throw in some sci notation.
I can guarantee that by the end of each 34 problem column/class - even those students whom struggle the most WILL have memorized the pattern in the calculations!
