Moles seem mysterious to many secondary students. Avogadro's number is one of the culprits. Although it is possible to do a slew of factor label problems with Avogadro's number, it is not the primary value of the mole concept in chemistry. This Powerpoint presentation explains how the mole concept enables chemists to scale up balanced equations to measurable quantities, and shows how to do basic mole calculations.
