Looking for meaningful/connected activities for your class to complete while you work with small Mondo phonics groups? This is for you!
These letter stations go in the order of the kindergarten Mondo phonics curriculum. I teach 5 lessons a week which means a focus on 3 letters (or later, 3 look and say words) each week. My students work at their “phonics stations” while I am calling my phonics groups. When I am ready to call up my second group, they clean up and either come to my table for that group, or go to a second station, depending on what the curriculum calls for that day. I assign partners. Students cross of their names at a list in each station. I change stations weekly and organize in color coded bins so that the students know the routines and what to expect.
The stations include:
-Hidden Letters (white crayon, go over with marker)
-Letter Hunt around the room
-Roll a Letter (dice)
-Build a Letter (using playdoh, mini-erasers, etc.)
-Letter Sort Cards
