I have been using and refining this system of classroom management over the past 16 years. In this resource, you will learn about my extensive Personal Financial Literacy based classroom management system, as well as get all the documents I have created over the years to use in your own classroom.
I developed the idea for K-Bucks during my second year of teaching and since then it has transformed into a quite comprehensive way to monitor behavior on a whole group, small group, and individual level. A couple of years ago I served on a district-level committee to pilot the new Personal Financial Literacy (PFL) standards. The National Standards in K–12 Personal Finance Education, created and maintained by the Jump$tart Coalition® for Personal Financial Literacy, delineate the personal finance knowledge and skills that K–12 students should possess. I realized very early on that my classroom management system was an excellent and practical way to meet many of the PFL standards. There are currently 25 states that have State Financial Educational Requirements.
