Australian Curriculum - Maths

Year 2: Count and order small collections of Australian coins and notes according to their value (ACMNA034)

Year 3: Represent money values in multiple ways and count the change required for simple transactions to the nearest five cents (ACMNA059)

Year 4: Solve problems involving purchases and the calculation of change to the nearest five cents with and without digital technologies (ACMNA080)

Year 6: Investigate and calculate percentage discounts of 10%, 25% and 50% on sale items, with and without digital technologies (ACMNA132)

TEACHER NOTE: At the start of the game, you may give out more money than 2 of each value per child. If you don’t, it means they need to work out what coins/notes they are missing so there is a bit of problem solving involved. It will depend on the level of your students. Feel free to change the rules – e.g. you must double the money you land on, or halve it, give change from \$20, calculate a sale price of 10% on each value, etc.
