Help keep kids engaged with these interactive money activities!

Eight different interactive activities are included, with sample photographs for students to see the final product. Several of the activities are differentiated for difficulty and to allow the teacher more options for instruction.

This pack includes:

• Money Flip Book- Flip book with information about the dollar bill and each coin.
• Show What You Know- Four small tab books with questions about each coin. Students can use the Money Flip Book to answer all the questions.
• Spinning for Heads and Tails- Students will use a paper clip to spin a coin. Then, students will toss the coin and create a graph recording what side (heads or tails) the coin lands on.
• Order Up- Students will count all the coins on the strip. Then, students will order the strips from greatest to least. Four different versions are included: nickels and pennies, dimes and pennies, dimes, nickels and pennies, and quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.
• Take the Gnome Home- Students will count collections of coins (quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies) and sort to show greater than 50 cents or less than 50 cents.
• Many Different Ways- Students will show 4 ways to make a given amount. Three versions are included: \$1.00, \$0.50, and \$0.25.
• Two Ways About It- Students will show 2 ways to make a given amount. Two versions are included for more practice.
• Shopping Time- Students will draw the coins to “buy” the item on the flip flap book. Two versions are included for more practice.
• Money Word Problems- Students will draw and solve the money word problems.

Money Centers
This pack was created to provide simple and engaging activities for money. The centers are NOT seasonally based. Nine math centers are included. The centers are available in color and in black and white.
The following centers are included:
• Carnivorous Coins- Students match the collections of pennies and dimes to the total. This center practices counting collections of pennies and dimes, using both the front and backs of the coins to \$1.00.
• Magical Coin Collection- Students match the collections of pennies and nickels to the total. This center practices counting collections of pennies and nickels, using both the front and backs of the coins to \$1.00.
• Garden Full of Coins- Students match the collections of dimes, nickels, and pennies to the total. This center practices counting collections of dimes, nickels, and pennies, using both the front and backs of the coins to \$1.00.
• Money Match- Students match the collections of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters to the total. This center practices counting collections of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, using both the front and backs of the coins to \$1.00.
• Fill the Bank- Students match the collections of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters to the total. This center practices counting collections of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, using only the front of the coins to \$1.00.
• A Royal Amount- Students draw a card with a money word problem and solve. This center practices money word problems to \$1.00.
• Show Two Ways Puzzles- Students solve puzzles matching two ways to show an amount and the total. Please note there is no recording sheet for this center.
• Writing Totals Puzzles- Students solve puzzles matching coin collections to the three ways to write money. Please note there is no recording sheet for this center.
• Popsicle Coins Puzzles- Students count collections of coins and then solve the puzzle. There are two versions of this activity. One version shows only the front of the coins and the other show both sides of the coins. Please note there is no recording sheet for this center.

Print and GO! Money Centers
This pack was created for the busy teacher. Unfortunately, as the demands on the classroom teacher grow, the time the teacher has to differentiate and create new materials has decreased. And THAT is Sadsville! That is where this pack comes in. Simply print the recording sheet and include the needed manipulative: instant math center!!
These printables are a simple way to incorporate centers during guided math without taxing the teacher’s time. There are several versions of the SAME skills. The activities are differentiated by difficulty level as well as the materials needed to complete each task. Please note that NO answer keys are included in this pack since students are generating their own problems. Also, I have included additional problems, so that teachers can copy the center front to back to allow for more practice, if needed.
The materials needed to complete these centers are:
• Dice
• Paper clip (for a spinner)
• Playing cards (face card and 10 removed)
• Coins/ coin manipulatives

• Fill the Piggy Bank- Creating collections of coins (quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies) using a spinner and counting the total. Three versions of this activity are included: spinner with the word quarter, dime, nickel, and penny, the picture of the coins on the spinner, and value of the coins on the spinner).
• Spin and Compare- Spinning an amount of coins, drawing the coins, counting the total, and then comparing it to a given amount. Three versions of this activity are included: nickels and pennies, dimes and pennies, and dimes, nickels, and pennies.
• Race to \$1.00- Use a spinner to add with money on the hundreds chart. The goal is to reach \$1.00. Three versions of this activity are included: spinner with the word quarter, dime, nickel, and penny, the picture of the coins on the spinner, and value of the coins on the spinner).
• Going Shopping- Students create money word problems by rolling a die to determine the number of each type of coin. Then students draw the coins and count to determine the total cost of the item.

Money Small Group Activities and Assessments
This pack was created to make small group math time a breeze for your money unit! Five different activities for small groups are included. For each activity there is an “I can” statement for students and directions for the teachers. The activities included are:
• Digging through Coins- Sorting activity to practice identifying quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies.
• Scoop and Sort- Students scoop a given pile of coins and sort for heads and tails.
• Grab and Go Coins- Coins strips (within \$1.00) are provided for students to grab and find the total. Two versions are provided. The first version has only the heads side of the coins. The second version includes both the heads and tails of the coins.
• Building Collections of Coins- 20 Cards with a given collections of coins. Teacher directions included a variety of ideas for tasks to use with these cards.
• Tools for Money Word Problems- 24 money word problems (within \$1.00) cards are provided for students to grab and find the total. Teacher directions included a variety of ideas for tasks to use with these cards.
Included in this pack are a variety of short assessments that are perfect for formative assessments. Assessments can be printed front to back to create a longer assessment. Assessment #4 and #7 can be created front to back to create a pre and posttest for the unit. A performance assessment is also included.
