These money task cards were created to provide differentiation for your students’ varying ability levels. Each set of task cards is color coordinated to a matching answer key. The recording sheet (sheet with blank piggy banks) is intended to be used by all students for all three sets.
The first set of task cards (chevron pattern) is for your above grade level students. Your students will count the money and provide the correct amount without any options to choose from.
The second set of task cards (stars pattern) is for your students that are on grade level. Your students will be provided three options to choose from to find the correct amount.
The third set of task cards (green design) is for your students that are below grade level. Your students will be provided two options to choose from to find the correct amount.
In addition, you will find some money handouts that can be used for a Math Interactive Notebook or simply as a handout for your students to be introduced to the descriptions of each coin.
You will also find in this download a “Show Me the Money” recording card. This card is intended to be used as a “dry erase board” to be used with the Kagan Activity, Showdown, or any other activity of the teacher’s choice. All you need to do is print enough cards for the number of students in your class, laminate, and provide your students with a dry erase marker! Showdown happens to be an all time favorite activity with my students! Directions for Showdown are included in this download!
