This money set will help your students learn more about money. It starts with the basic skills of matching coins to their pictures and advances all the way to combining different coins and/or bills to come up to a specific value.
Begin by having students match picture icons of money. Then, students can sort & identify the different types of coins the USA has. Lastly, students can build a specific value by using coins and/or bills. It starts by counting up pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters individually (working also on counting by 1s, 5s, 10s, and 25s). Then, it advances to having values that a student will need to use multiple coins and/or bills to build.
Place this set into a binder or have students work on these separately.
To put this set together, first print the pages out on cardstock. Then, cut out the picture icons of the coins and bills. Next, laminate the board pages and picture icons.
Optional: Place hard velcro on each square on the board pages. Also, place a long row of hard velcro where the students create a specific value. Place soft velcro on the picture icons. The velcro will help make the coins not fall all over.
