This is the incentive program I use for my middle school (gr. 5-7) speech/language therapy students. I find that it has been highly motivating for an otherwise infamously difficult group to motivate. Each student gets an envelope at the beginning of the year which they write their name on. The envelopes are stored in the speech room at all times and students can bank their earned "money" in those envelopes throughout the year and spend as they choose.
DOLLAR DAY: The "dollar day" option to earn is a great way for me to make sure that my articulation students get enough high quality repetitions and gather a great chunk of data. I typically adjust the number for my students who are working on language targets on a case by case basis, since we have found it's unrealistic to hit 100 trials in a session for those skills. My students love dollar days and often come in to ask if we can have a dollar days when they are close to a prize they've been working toward.
DOLLARS: My building already uses a "behavior bucks" incentive program, so I use the play money provided for that. Check back for an companion "dollar" product.
I love this program because it gives me great insight into my students' executive function skills and creates an opportunity to embed some important daily living skills, like budgeting. Not to mention, my middle schoolers love it!
