Your students will love these fun and engaging money activities that allow them to practice counting, adding, and subtracting coins and bills! Included are all the directions and templates you’ll need to create these center activities, plus ideas for how to differentiate each center for special needs learners and above level students.

Game/Center 1: Coin War
1, 2, 3, 4…Let’s have a coin war! Students turn over the top card in their stack and count the coins on their card. The player with the HIGHEST amount keeps BOTH cards. If both cards total the same amount, the cards are set aside and neither player keeps them. The game continues until all the cards have been turned over. The player at the end of the game with the most cards wins.

Includes 126 playing cards, teacher directions, student direction card to be placed in the center, and extension activity.

Game/Center 2: What’s in Piggy’s Bank
Students roll the die and use the key to color in the coin on the graph they land on. They keep rolling and coloring until one coin or bill reaches the top. Then they count up the coins and/or bills they colored in to find out how much money is in Piggy’s Bank.

Game/Center 3: Dollar Dash/ Five Dollar Dash
Students roll the die and record the amount they roll using the key. They keep rolling and adding the amounts together until the reach one dollar/five dollars.

Game/Center 4: Spin and Spend
Students spin and record the amount they land on under a piggy bank. Then they subtract that amount from the total listed on the piggy bank to find out how much money is left.

Game/Center 5: Piggy’s Bank: Write-the Room
Students search the room to find the numbered piggy banks cards. They count the money on each piggy bank and write the amount in the matching box on their recording sheet.

Game/Center 6: Take It to the Bank
Students roll and race around the game board, adding up the amount of money they land on as they go. The player with the highest total of money in their piggy bank at the end of the game wins.

Includes 2 game boards (one with coins only and one with coins & bills), teacher directions, student direction card to be placed with game, spinner, game pieces, and student recording sheet. *Low Prep!*

Game/Center 7: Puppy Money Puzzles
Students complete each 3-piece puzzle by matching the monetary amount in numbers, coins, and words. There are several extension worksheets students may complete after the puzzles are put together. Click HERE for a FREE SAMPLE of this activity!

Game/Center 8: Farmer’s Market Task Cards
Students use “The Farmer’s Market” picture card to answer the one and two-step problems on the task cards. There are 40 tasks cards in two sets: one set of 20 cards with questions only and one set of 20 cards with questions and multiple choice answers. There are also 4 additional task cards with open ended questions.
