Set of 24 cards for higher level money thinking and differentiated! Perfect math activity for centers. Using US money for math is engaging for students. Along with coin recognition and counting money, these task cards use money to reinforce math skills such as odd/even, patterns, combinations, probability, adding/subtracting, logic, and extra thinking. The questions transition from easier to harder so you can differentiate.
How is this product different from the other TPT products?
Most money task cards show coins and have students count them or solve simple word problems, which are great for identification and fluency. Students can quickly go through a stack of these task cards. My task cards require students to think, look for patterns, and persevere, while identifying money. Each card takes minutes instead of seconds to solve, requiring higher thinking.
How can I use this product?
I have used these task cards as a math center, journal prompts, whole class Scoot game, class discussions, or even assessments.
What is a sample question?
I have $.25 in my pocket. I don’t have any quarters or pennies. What are all the possible combinations that could be in my pocket?
I have $1.23. I have the same amount of each coin. What combination is in my pocket?
