Money Value Recognition Easy Reference Graph -
2 options - one full page and 2 half page sizes
The graph shows the pictures of the coins and a
dollar bill on the bottom. On either side of the graph,
it indicates ‘cent’ amounts and ‘dollar’ amounts.
At the top of the graph, it has the written word for the
coin or bill. The penny bar breaks it down by single cent
with every 5th being marked with a gray bar. The nickel
is numbered through 20 (all bars and amounts lead to the
total of one dollar). The dime is numbered through 10.
The quarter is marked to 4. The half dollar through 2 and
the one dollar with a 1. In the background across the graph
are light blue lines marking the entire graph into fives.
This reference graph could be utilized for other projects.
The 6 money mats accommodate a different answer option
for each. Each mat has 3 different coins that each set amounts
to identical ‘cents’. The mats include totals for the dime,
nickel, quarter and half dollar.
Suggestion for graphing the mats ….. laminate the graphs and
mats. Have the student use a dry erase marker to count off the
coins and to mark the graph - then fill in the recording sheet.
No shifting of the spot markers allow for easy counting and the dry erase will come off with a simple damp wipe.
The recording sheet can be used with all of the mats.
Once the information has be ‘recorded’, the student can transfer
the info to the appropriate booklet. The cover of the booklets are
all identical …. each of the internal set of sheets are different
based on the coin mat that it coordinates with.
