This product is designed for use in the K-3 classroom setting. It is a HANDS ON and FUN activity for whole-group, small-group, or center-designed word work. It focuses on prepositions.
Students write down the preposition and the item the monkey is located by on the writing lines provided. Then they will draw around the monkey the illustrate the prepositional sentence.
Ideas for Implementation
-Whole Group (Teacher cuts out monkey and moves it around the room in different positions. Students record where the monkey is at each time on their worksheet.)
-Small Group (You can differentiate this activity for all your students varying levels. For approaching level students, you can have labels for the different places in the classroom and different preposition choices written down on index cards to give spelling support. For beyond level students, you can give each student a monkey to color and partner them up. They can go and hide their monkeys in the classroom and have their partner go and find their monkey and describe the monkey's position on their own.)
-Centers (Teacher can have 4 monkeys labeled #1-4 around the classroom and students can complete their worksheet by going on a hunt around the classroom.)
