This digital download is a PDF presentation style file that can be used a printable lesson outline or a substitute plan, or a visual to show to students as the lesson progresses.
In this lesson students will learn how to create geometric shapes that have the illusion of three-dimensional form using one point perspective. Students will then choose a monochromatic color scheme to color the drawing. Afterwards, students will go on a color treasure hunt through recycled magazines to create a collage background using that same monochromatic color scheme. The two artworks are then combined together to create a layered, mixed media work of art.
Included in this presentation file are the following:
step-by-step photo visuals
essential question slides
printable assessment worksheet
I taught this lesson with 2nd and 3rd grade and they turned out awesome! Students practiced this technique in their classroom and at home when the lesson was over, so I know they enjoyed it and remembered it!
