This unit contains an introductory activity that has students analyze 4 different political cartoons regarding the Monroe Doctrine. The activity also includes guiding questions to help students better understand the topic.
In addition, the unit includes directions for students to create their own political cartoon that demonstrates their knowledge of the US and foreign policy. The activity also has students write a paragraph explaining their political cartoon and citing textual evidence from the textbook. The activity can be modified to include different text sources to include a different textbook or primary source. I have also included 3 student examples to show the level of creativity.
