Monster Google Drawing - Computational Thinking

Monster Google Drawing - Computational Thinking
Product Description
FREE Lesson Plan/ Activity! Monster Drawing Assignment- adapted from code.org, therefor I am not selling for profit, but offering this lesson free on TPT.
1. Students will decompose the problem by analyzing what all goes into making a monster- what features do each of the monsters possess?
2. Students will find patterns- what do the monsters have in common?
3. Students will abstract the differences. Students will use the Monster Catalog (linked at the top of their assignment,) to draw (in a Google Drawing,) a monster possessing features of their choice.
4. Then they will write steps (an algorithm) as a series of instructions that classmate(s) can follow to recreate the monster.
**Addition to what's on the plan: Last step can be students have to cover their drawing (on the left) with a red rectangle and then SHARE the Google Drawing with a partner and have them recreate the Monster using the directions written by the creator that are on the right. Finally, remove the red rectangle and compare Monsters.
Google Drive. iPad friendly.
