This is a unit that is meant for fall, but can be used anytime you need something to go with monsters. I developed it because I don't do a Halloween party or unit, and I wanted to address the positive parts that Halloween could include, such as monsters not being real, what to do about our fears, and imagination. It includes activities for ELA, and math. It includes:
-addition and subtraction spinning game
-addition and subtraction cover the number games
-horizontal and vertical subtraction bingo
-math journal prompts
-ten and twenty frames
-reading strategy activities for "Where the Wild Things Are"
-reading strategy activities for "The Little Old Woman Who Was not Afraid of Anything"
-cause and effect
-first, next, then, last
-creating a wild thing
For those of you who celebrate Halloween and for those of you who don't, but want to capitalize on some fun monster activities.
