Students will become mad scientists and create a monster. Students will use big and small eyeballs and write an equation to represent the number of small and large eyeballs used. This is intended to be used to create all the sums of 10 but can easily be modified to basic addition, doubles etc. I have included signs for k-2 for the display. To use a as math center copy the monsters on colored paper, laminate and cut out. Laminate and cut out the eyeballs and equation page. Throw in a bag with a dry erase marker and students can continue to practice making equations with different sums.
