These monster math number writing practice pages are a fun way for students to learn how to write the numbers 0-9 or 1-10. There are starting points and dotted lines for students to trace the numbers.
Pick which version you want to teach: 0-9 or 1-10 (there are seven practice pages for each). I designed these with a scaffold approach in mind. Students start with the chart that has all the numbers filled in for them to trace. Each page builds on the last by leaving off more numbers and starting point aids for students to fill in until eventually they can complete a blank page with no aids.
I laminate these pages and keep them in my students’ work folders for their daily practice (give them one page at a time and swap out pages as they are mastered). Students can use a vis-à-vis marker or dry erase marker (black erases best) and an old sock as an eraser.
Students can also practice one-to-one correspondence by counting the number of eyes on each monster above their matching number.
