Product Description
My students had a BALL with this project! Simple, easy, no-prep activity will bring out the number monsters in YOUR classroom!

Step 1: Write the word "monster" on the whiteboard or smartboard in the center of the screen to create a mind map with the class. (Or draw a monster for visual appeal!)

Step 2: Brainstorm with the class all the monster-related features they can think of... eyes, teeth, antennae, arms, legs, spots, stripes, ears, fangs, tongues, claws, etc. Write those words on the mind map to provide a visual cue for all students.

Step 3: Give each student 5 index cards or 5 squares of paper to write on. Have them choose the top 5 monster features they wish to include in their monster art project and write one word on each index card.

Step 4: Now have them turn the cards over (face down so they can't see the words) and tell them to mix up the order of the cards.

Step 5: Distribute the "monster math" chart included in this kit and have them randomly select 1 card at a time to write the word in each of the boxes numbered 1-5.

Step 6: Distribute colored construction paper and have students construct their monster according to the chart they created.

These lil' monsters turned out SO cute and were a blast to have hanging in the halls!

Wishing you the very best~
