What educators are saying

This is BY FAR the most popular and adorable theme I have had in my music room thus far in my time as a music teacher! My students LOVE it and I may use it next year too!

Do you want to decorate your music classroom with a monster theme? This fun, colorful set has everything you need to decorate your music room with monsters, and includes:

*MUSIC monster-themed rules: Includes two different designs as well as an editable version that you can add your own MUSIC rules to. The ones included are:

--M: Make good choices

--U: Use good manners

--S: Speak when appropriate

--I: Involve yourself

--C: Care for equipment

*Monster-themed behavior slips ("Monstrously good behavior today," "_____ was a mon-star day," "Eye spied you having a good day today," and "Sit by a friend")

*Musical symbol monster-themed set: Print these out and hang in your room, so you can refer to musical symbols as they happen during class/ during listening lessons! I have found having these visuals really helpful in my classroom, because students often refer to them without my prompting! The signs include the following terms:

6/8 (with two different definitions given)

quarter note/ crotchet

eighth notes/ quaver

eighth rest/ quaver rest

quarter rest/ crotchet rest

sixteenth rest/ semiquaver rest

half note/ minim

whole note/ semibreve

whole rest/ semibreve rest

sixteenth notes/semiquaver

double barline

bass clef

treble clef

Common time

dynamics: p, mp, mf, f, ff, pp

repeat sign

I've included a PDF with definitions as well as an editable Powerpoint so you can add your own definitions.

*Monster-themed handsign set: includes do-do' with different designs

*Monster-themed music word wall: includes almost 100 musical terms to hang in your room, as well as letters to alphabetize the terms. I've also included each image as a jpg, in case you are having issues printing from the PDF.

*Monster-themed editable word wall: This allows you to add your own musical terms to the word wall! Simply insert a text box, type the word, and print!

*Monster-themed team signs: These can be used when splitting your students into groups and/or handing out manipulatives. Post the signs so students know where to go!

*Teacher planner divider pages: These can be printed to put into your teacher planner. Divider pages include: Planner, Substitute info, Lesson plans, Schedule, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Recorders, Assessments, Grade Book, Rubrics, Concept Plans, PPP's, Monthly Plans, Song Lists, Folk Songs, and Program Music. An editable Powerpoint is included so you can add your own language!

*Bulletin board kits: includes "Monstrous Musical Roles," with different musical roles (conductor, composer, musician, listener/consumer, and arranger), as well as "A song a day keeps the monsters away," with common song titles as well as an editable document to add your own song titles! See the preview for the bulletin board visuals.

*Monster-Themed National Core Arts Standards Printables: Includes 1 and sometimes 2 printables for each anchor standard, written in student-friendly "I can" language.

*"A bit too wild" and "Ready to tame" chair visuals for students who need some time to think, and then are ready to join the fun again.

*Levels of understanding monster-themed visuals

*Monster-Themed Calendar: Includes numbers, days of the week, and months of the year.

*Monster-Themed Instrument Posters: Includes woodwind, strings, percussion, and brass instruments and instrument family headers

*Monster-Themed Recorder Posters: Posters with fingerings for B, A, G, low E, low D, high D, high C, low C, F, and F#.
