Students can review characterization in ANY novel or short story using this AWESOME resource based on Pixar's popular 2001 film, Monsters Inc.

With a combination of art, real-life expository writing, and creative writing, this product will engage even the most reluctant students in your classroom.

After choosing a character from a novel or short story, students will assign said character a monster ("scarer") from Monsters, Incorporated and complete the following activities:

Official Monster Creation/Background: name, draw, and color the perfect monster choice for scaring your chosen literary character! Make sure to check any characteristics from the checklist that your monster has and explain why THIS monster is the perfect choice to visit your character!

Character Door Symbolism: design and color the official door (portal) that your monster will use to visit your character from the Scare Floor! The design of your character's door will reflect that character's beliefs, personality, or role in the story!

Portal Layout Map: draw and label the layout of the literary character's room so that your monster will know where to hide, what to avoid, and what to do to achieve best scaring results!

Monsters Incorporated Official Scare Report: have your monster fill out this documentation AFTER the scare is complete. What happened? Was the scare successful? What tips should future scarers be given for this location?
