Monstrous Math Activities has 6 different activities. They include:
3-D shape sort-Students will sort everyday objects into monster trucks by shape (cylinder, cube, pyramid, sphere, cone, and rectangular prism.
Shape Monster-Students will play a card game in which they try to make matching sets and not be the last one holding the shape monster. A match includes one 2-D shape card and one card that tells how many sides or vertices the shape on the shape card has. Shapes include square, rectangle, triangle, circle, hexagon, rhombus, trapezoid, octagon,and parallelogram.
Board Game-Students spin a shape and move to the nearest 3-D shape spun. First player to help the monster get to his monster truck wins.
Monster Truck Write the Room-Students will count the base ten bear blocks and record on a recording sheet the number counted. Numbers include 1-20.
Monster Truck Write the Room/Count by 10's-Students will count base ten bear blocks by 10's (10-100) and record on a recording sheet. Included is a worksheet for writing numbers 10 to 100 when counting by 10's.
Monster Money-Students use a magnifying glass to locate money amounts hidden in the picture and record that amount on the recording sheet next to the coins that show that amount.
It's Monster Time!-Students will each get a gameboard that has clocks with time to the hour. They take turns drawing a card with a time on it. If that time is shown on a clock on their gameboard, they will place a marker on it. First player to have all clocks on their gameboard covered will win.
