In a traditional Montessori classroom, the Geometric Charts (including the Triangle Charts) are used as a supplement to the geometry materials. They demonstrate the geometric principles of congruence, similarity and equivalence, and are also used to represent fractional equivalence. The charts can also be used to explore area. These charts can be used as a stand alone tool for working with these concepts, but have more value when used in conjunction with moveable triangle pieces (included) or traditional materials.
Specially designed to be convenient for homeschoolers, these charts print on standard 8.5 x 11 paper. To prepare the charts, simply print and laminate or insert in page protectors for durability. By using page protectors, they can be placed in a three ring binder for easy storage.
The charts also include printable 1, 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 size triangles that can be laminated and cut for a permanent manipulative material or copied and given to students to duplicate the charts and create other equivalences.
Text has been included on the charts as dictated by the authors’ training files. Other training programs and manuals may contain slightly different charts or labels. We plan to add the circle and square series of charts at a later date. The file does not include lesson plans for using the charts at this time. Color printing required.
